Be sure you are learning the parts of your poultry
and that you practice removing and putting back your poultry from their cage if you do not have one a pet taxi will work.
Remember that your poultry should always face out the door when being removed and face the inside of the cage when being returned.
That way they can see where they are going.
From McMurray Hatchery

See link to thier web site.
If you are showing meat pens the accepted breed for showing is the
Cornish Cross White Rock (Cornish Rock). They should be ordered by the 1st part of May. They should be 6-8 weeks
old, no older than 10 weeks at the time of Valencia County Community Expo. Keep in mind if ordering from a hatchery
you need to allow for hatching time before they will ship to you.
The Jumbo Cornish Cross is a fast developing; broad breasted meat type chicken. Ready to dress in six weeks
or sooner. Feed high protein feed that is 21% or better. |
For your Showmanship Class:
- You will be asked to wear a long sleeved white shirt and a nice pair of jeans.
